Creating Flourishing

“Where there is nothing to lose by trying and everything to gain if successful, by all means try. Do It Now!”

“HAVE THE COURAGE TO FACE THE TRUTH !” When making a decision and one part is missing do not proceed until you find that part. If you have all the parts why are you still here? Fear never starts a journey.

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”…After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭2‬:‭1-2, 9‬ NIV)

Will we be considered “Wisemen”?

Creating Flourishing

You are in the middle of writing your story and every story needs a hero or heroine. The bigger the challenges the better the story. If you are writing your story today, today is only temporary, but if you are reading your story it will seem permanent. Always remember your life begins new every morning.

  • “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” (‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ NIV)
  • How Important is today?
  • What needs God’s salvation “Today”? What are your challenges that will require you to pick up your pen of attitude, wisdom, skill, personality, vision, decision making and write from the inspiration of being saved?

Creating Flourishing

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭10-11‬ KJV)

  • When fear rules the will, we are paralyzed, but when a man casts fear out of his mind the world becomes his workshop for creativity. To lose a bit of money is nothing but to lose hope — to lose nerve and ambition — that is what makes men cripples.
  • “Behold” means to perceive the message and your fear will lose it’s power over your mind. Listen well for that is the well being of your life. Really Listen.

In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.—Shunryu Suzuki, Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind

If an Eagle tries to focus on two rabbits he catches none. Focus on one rabbit and chances go up.

Christmas is about Jesus coming for one purpose. The salvation of Man. He did not start a university, build a hospital or engineer a chemical plant. He focused on making the Kingdom of Heaven available right now and His followers would do their one thing.

Concentration is focusing on the desired results until the knowledge, behavior, resources, relationships have been worked out and brought into operation. Fold a piece of paper and the next time you fold it, it will want to fold according to the creases. Mental habits want to go the path of least resistance.

  • Are they the path to your desired results?
  • If not, then decide where you want to go and concentrate on the new paths until new creases are formed in your mind.
  • The higher the concentration the more the new thinking will be attracted to you.
  • “I hate the two-faced, but I love your clear-cut revelation. You’re my place of quiet retreat; I wait for your Word to renew me. Get out of my life, evildoers, so I can keep my God’s commands. Take my side as you promised; I’ll live then for sure. Don’t disappoint all my grand hopes. Stick with me and I’ll be all right; I’ll give total allegiance to your definitions of life. Expose all who drift away from your sayings; their casual idolatry is lethal. You reject earth’s wicked as so much rubbish; therefore I lovingly embrace everything you say. I shiver in awe before you; your decisions leave me speechless with reverence. (‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭113-120‬ MSG)

Creating Flourishing

Jesus is like the cue ball in pool. Where He goes He breaks old patterns and sends people off in new directions. Christmas is a crisis. All of human kinds future events are determined by this fork in the road. You try and throw Him off a cliff or you bow and worship. You either walk on water or sit in the boat. You follow Him or crucify Him. Is He God or not?

There is an old story of a king who went into the village streets to greet his subjects. A beggar sitting by the roadside eagerly held up his alms bowl, sure that the king would give handsomely. Instead the king asked the beggar to give him something. Taken aback, the beggar fished three grains of rice from his bowl and dropped them into the king’s outstretched hand. When at the end of the day the beggar poured out what he had received, he found to his astonishment three grains of pure gold in the bottom of his bowl. O, that I had given him all!

Creating Flourishing

“If the distance between the Earth and the sun— ninety- three million miles— was no more than the thickness of a sheet of paper, then the distance from the Earth to the nearest star would be a stack of papers seventy feet high; the diameter of the Milky Way would be a stack of paper over three hundred miles high. Keep in mind that there are more galaxies in the universe than we can number. There are more, it seems, than dust specks in the air or grains of sand on the seashores. Now, if Jesus Christ holds all this together with just a word of his power (Hebrews 1:3)— is he the kind of person you ask into your life to be your assistant?”             Timothy Keller
